Hatem Radwan Memorial Fund

Hatem Radwan was truly an angel walking amongst us. He dedicated his entire life to his family, his community, and philanthropy. These were his passions in life.

Every thing he did, he did with 200% commitment. When he taught Sunday School his entire adult life, he created full blown curriculums they used for years later when every other teacher was just winging it as a volunteer gig.

He founded chamber of commerces, and charities and philanthropic organizations that still live on to this day. He donated his time and his energy AS WELL as his money, practicing what he preached.

Meanwhile at home, he showed his passion for teaching new generations. He would give any and every child he saw piggy back rides while singing a famous tune nobody would associate with anyone but him. All while instilling in them a love of faith, and community. Lessons all of them live to this day.

He knew that without the younger generation being educated and thriving, nothing would go on.

Sadaqa Jariya in Islam means “Continual Charity” in one’s name. It means something that will continue to give over and over for good. The work that Grow Hope does is exactly that definition, and exactly what my father believed in. Education and clean water.

So many people are asking me how to honor him. Like he gave to this world. If that is something you’re inclined to do, even the price of a cup of coffee will honor his memory. ❤️

From his daughter Neveen~

Everything good in me is because of this man. He lived his life by a code that was unbreakable. Be a good person, do right by people and what God taught us, and nothing else matters.

* Be kind. To everyone, whether they deserve it or not.

* Don’t waste. Water. Food. Anything. There are always others that need it more. He even neatly folded any and every plastic bag he used to reuse. He never wasted a single solitary thing.

* Cleanliness. He was truly the cleanest man I’ve ever met.

* Don’t hold grudges against people you love for more than 3 days.

* Read. Anything and everything. His library is/was the most impressive I’ve ever seen. From the Bible & the Torah and every engineering & history book he could find to Mein Kamf. He believed the only way you could understand history was to read.

* Education is key.

* Charity. Charity. Charity. - he used to happily tutor his students for free until 1-2 am daily. Anything you pay in charity will always come back to you.

* Pray. Pray. Pray.

* Enjoy life. Eat well. Travel. God gives us blessings to enjoy them.

* Take care of the body God gave you. Don’t smoke. Don’t drink. Eat well. Stay healthy.

* Always smile. A smile is charity.

* Don’t ever curse or say a harsh word. He lived this to his dying day. He wasn’t super successful at instilling this in me.

* Religion is about peace, love and building bridges. Fanatics exist in every faith and none of them are true believers of any faith.

* Family first. ALWAYS.
